Halloween Math Activities

Halloween Eraser Sorting

I put a variety of Halloween shaped erasers into a basket, the students then sorted them into pumpkins and cauldrons. They could also make patterns using the erasers by lining them up on the table. For example: ghost, candy corn, ghost, candy corn, ghost, candy corn, etc.

Haunted House Counting Book

The pages of this house-shaped booklet are as follows:

1. In the haunted house there are 4 spooky

2. In the haunted house there are 3 spooky

3. In the haunted house there are 2 spooky

4. In the haunted house there is 1 spooky

The students illustrated each page and wrote the corresponding Halloween words.

Bat Wing Matching

I made a set of black bats out of construction paper. On the bats I put a set of numerals on the right wings and matching number of stickers on the left wings. I then cut the wings off the bats and mixed them up. The students had to find a right and left wing that had the same number represented and add them to the body to make a complete bat.
